MY MENU

My Menu was a part of a proposal for one of our existing client.
We had to provide a solution to handle daily menus and recipes for a restaurant chain.

THE PROBLEM STATEMENT

Since this was something, we were offering to the client, it was strictly low budget and we had to work from offshore.
I had to provide a UX solution within 1 week (i.e. 5 days). It was a challenging task, since we knew very little about the business, the users, its environment, the pain points etc.
All understanding I got was from the BA, who was working onsite. He provided me with the screenshots for the application and a brief of what the client was looking for.

TARGET GROUP

Corporate chefs and unit managers.

MY APPROACH

We had a basic understanding from the BA working from client side and we got the screenshoits of the application, this was good enough to start with.
We did a usability review of the application, based on the 10 Usability Heuristics for user interface design and based on major interface components (like navigation, consistency, affordance etc).
Wireframes
All the requirements and enhancements were taken into consideration and I started working on the wireframes keeping in mind the above shown painpoints.
However the application had numerous features and had a lot of complex features to be resolved. I suggested to just focus on the homepage and food menu page for now as a part of the proposal and then once the project is approved, we can buy in more time to actually get engage with the users and business.
The client agreed to it and we created an initial proposal for only the Homepage and weekly menu page (with target device as iPad).
